Hello! There is less than a month for the meeting, so we must be entered in the previous work.

As frecuent difficulties with the receipt of e-mails, I request confirmation of the reception of this mail!

.: Previous Work :. Some practical considerations for this work:

— You will receive a Draft Agenda on September 3th, wich contains general information of the post-fellowship phase until the moment. In addition, you will be able to see those modules on wich your active partipation is requested (as individual and as a Alumni Reps collective), and a breakdown of what it has been planned on each module.

— We need your comments respect the Draft Agenda, top on Friday 17th (despite you still could send more comments later). Moreover, Draft Agenda has a module, on Tuesday 11th, that is reserved for what you as a collectively can propose (please do not duplicate what it has been specified in other modules.

— As an advice, it is recommendable start with a round of coordination between you 5 Alumni Reps, in order to make sure that every ones understood the same. After that, you could obtain information in local form (on each of your respectives countries). In that way you could later compare collectively the diagnoses and proposals, arriving finally at the meeting with a global proposal representing both the feeling and the needs of IFP Alumni, by individual and group exposure of the Alumni Reps.

— About your proposals, we need more than a listing of objective demands. This it is the moment for develop proposals elaborated on a collective basis, framed in the stage that has been indicated for the post-fellowship phase.

— At the end of this mail there is a password so you can accede to a chat in our Intranet, in case you prefer that media to reach other fellows, or with your Alumni Reps colleagues.

— About timing, by the end of september you will have to end the previous work. On first week of October we will have time to systematize your contributions, translate it, and to collect the material that you want to present in the meeting.

.: Data Base :. I will send next Wednesday a spreadsheet with data of those Latin American Fellows who have finished their studies (IFP Alumni), and of those studying its last semester (as they are very interested in the post-fellowship phase, near to their "horizon"). Fellows placed ending their studies at the beginning of 2005 will be invited to participate in those activities established in the planning meeting of October.

— A relevant subject to explore with IFP Alumni is their perception respect to the their job's and tasks once finished their postgraduate studies. Do they feel they are in a better / worse position than the one they had before IFP? are they satisfied?, etc. This information is located at the end of the file, in those columns in black.

.: Passwordss :. Aside from other media you can choose, as IFP Alumni Representatives you can use the Forum and the Chat of our Intranet. In order to enter, go to www.programabecas.org. In the upper-right corner says "Intranet". Do clik and then type:

These media can be used for the internal work between you, or with the IFP Alumni of your countries. To use the Chant, I need to know when you are going to use it, because I have to set it free before somebody wants to use it. To use the Forum, it is necessary a little more instruction, but there is an explanatory document I can send...

.: Aviones :. I am sending to each one of you a preliminary flights scheduele. I need confirmation or comments about it if you prefer to see alternatives. Remember that for transfers towards their capital cities, the IPs (CIRMA, CIESAS, FCC, FIB & IEP) will give you an amount that will covers it.
